The launch of this student award reflects the close collaboration between AEPAS and SISS and represents much more than an exchange between associations. It is a shared commitment to building bridges between Spain and Italy, promoting scientific mobility, and creating opportunities for the next generation of professionals and researchers in the field of sensory science.

Thanks to this exchange program, one student member of AEPAS will have the opportunity to participate in the National Conference of the Italian Society of Sensory Sciences (SISS), while one student member of SISS will be able to attend the 7th AEPAS Conference, which will take place in Cáceres in 2027. In this way, both students will have the opportunity to present their work in an international context, share experiences, and connect with researchers and professionals from other countries.

The initiative aims to promote shared learning, knowledge exchange, and the development of international networks among young scientists who will contribute to the future of sensory analysis and consumer studies in Europe.

Through this experience, students will be able to broaden their scientific perspective, share methodologies, and become active members of an increasingly connected and collaborative European sensory community.

SISS and AEPAS are pleased to announce that the SISS student selected for the AEPAS (Spain) – SISS (Italy) Student Twinning Award is Sofia Trentanove (University of Florence), who was also the recipient of the 2026 SISS Annalisa Intermoia Young Researcher Award. Sofia will present her research, “A Novel Gamified Tool to Explore Food Preference Patterns in Children with Different Levels of Food Neophobia”, at the AEPAS National Conference, which will take place from 2 to 4 June 2027 in Cáceres, Spain.
